Team India arrived in India from Barbados on July 5 morning and after their arrival, the side went on a day-long celebration spree across both New Delhi and Mumbai.
The players first headed to ITC Maurya, where they cut cakes and got some rest.
The team then visited PM Narendra Modi at his residence where he congratulated the whole team for the victory.
They then departed for Mumbai and arrived at Nariman Point marking the commencement of the open-bus road show.
The crowd greeted the team with excitement and cheers expressing their emotions over the victory.
The Rohit Sharma-led side went on an open-top bus parade at Marine Drive and then went for a special felicitation ceremony at the Wankhede Stadium.
Team Captain Rohit Sharma gave a heartfelt speech during the ceremony leaving the crowd bursting with emotions.
Along with all the players who have represented the country, I think the people who've been wanting us to win the trophy, it belongs to them," Rohit said
Hardik Pandya was in tears as outgoing captain Rohit Sharma credited Hardik Pandya for bowling a superb last over in the final.
The crowd waited for hours for the team's arrival and was present in large numbers leaving the team speechless and overwhelmed.
